Episode #4: 🤓Learn about what to expect after getting a vaccine, and if an allergy really does prevent you from getting vaccinated. It’s totally normal to experience side effects 😕 from COVID-19 vaccines. Remember🧐, immune responses are different for everyone, and not have any side effects doesn’t mean you are not getting the same robust protection once you’re fully vaccinated!

🌎For the vast majority of people already vaccinated in the U.S. for COVID-19, the side effects, if any, have been mild. Serious or persistent side effects associated with the approved or authorized vaccines are extremely rare.

👍🏼The CDC says people with allergies to certain foods🥜, insects 🐝, latex and other common allergens🌳can safely receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

🛑Those with a history of severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) to injectables or other vaccines should discuss the vaccination with their doctor, who can evaluate and assess their risk.

National Influenza Vaccination Week is an annual observance in December to remind everyone 6 months and older that there’s still time to get vaccinated against flu. Vaccination is particularly important for people who are at higher risk of developing serious flu complications, including people with certain chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and heart disease. In fact, in past flu seasons, 9 out of 10 adults hospitalized for flu had at least one underlying medical condition.
