77 career passing touchdowns and counting. 👀🏈

James Monroe Campus senior quarterback Terrell “Pooty” Cunningham Jr. etched his name into the record books on Friday during the Red Jackets' 12-7 victory over East High School.

Pooty broke the all-time Section V career passing touchdown record with a first-quarter TD pass, going on to throw two touchdowns on the night and taking home game MVP.

He's grown up around the Monroe program since his dad, Head Coach Cunningham, joined the coaching staff in 2018. Years of hard work led to this historic moment!

Adrian, a Community Liaison Specialist at Dr. Iris J. Banister School 33 broke down what makes these schools so important:

When Wegmans and the Rochester Red Wings teamed up for their food drive, our community showed up in a big way. Our HUB and Family & Community Engagement teams coordinated the dropoff and rolled up their sleeves to sort through a full truck of donated non-perishables.

Every single item is heading directly into our RCSD school-based food pantries to support our students and families across the district. Huge thank you to everyone who dropped off food at the games!

In case you didn't know, it's National Arts in Education Week! 🎨

From painting to making music, art comes in so many different shapes and forms. It gives our students a unique way to express themselves, learn through hands-on creation, and simply have fun.

We popped into Ms. Hill's class at Virgil I. Grissom School No. 7, who has been teaching for nearly 30 years! She shared why arts education is important for all students, and how stepping into the music room helps even the quietest kids come out of their shell and build lifelong confidence.

Today marks 25 years since September 11, 2001. We pause to honor and remember the lives lost, reflecting on the courage of the first responders who ran toward danger, the resilience of the families affected, and the spirit of unity that brought our country together.

As we educate and support the next generation, today serves as a quiet reminder of the power of community, service, and looking out for one another.
