Nazareth University Choirs

Over the last two days, Nazareth University School of Music welcomed Moira Smiley for clinics and masterclasses with our choirs, and our music education, music therapy, and music composition students. Her work in folk music and song traditions is so inspiring!

What a beautiful start to the semester! On Saturday, the Nazareth Chamber Singers, under the direction of Dr. Eric Rubinstein, participated in a masterclass and performance celebrating the life and music of acclaimed composer, Adolphus Hailstork. This event, organized by Dr. Lee Wright, also brought together the choirs of First Inversion, Downtown Presbyterian Chancel Choir, East Rochester HS, and the Eastman Chorale 🎶

Looking forward to seeing you at 3PM today! (Please note the updated time.) The weather may be cold, but let's give Dr. Adolphus Hailstork a warm welcome to his birth city of Rochester!

Tis the [concert] season! Join us this week for Chamber Singers (Thurs), Treble Choir (Sun), and Chorale (next Mon, 11/17).

Yesterday, we welcomed three high school choirs to campus for our annual Day of Voice- a day filled with vocal and choral clinics, campus tours, and performances. Congratulations to the students and directors from East Irondequoit, Gates-Chili, and Webster Thomas!

While we are still in the height of the summer, we look forward to welcoming returning and new singers to Nazareth Choirs this fall!

In recent weeks, the Nazareth Choral Program welcomed two guests to campus-
⭐️ Judith Ranaletta, retired Show Choir director from Greece-Athena High School, joined our Choral Techniques class to discuss vocal cross-training in popular and musical theatre styles.
⭐️ Garrett Breeze, composer/arranger, Zoomed-in with Chamber Singers to discuss his journey as a composer, and offer feedback on the choir's interpretation of his arrangement of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow."

It's a great time to be a Golden Flyer- especially one that sings!
