Marlena Edwards joined the Buffalo Fire Department in 2014 after a firefighter encouraged her to apply. Now captain of Engine 38, she's making history as the first African American woman to reach that rank in the department. Amazing!🙌🏾 23-year-old Ben Shelton is the first Black American man to reach a US Open final since Arthur Ashe in 1972 and the first Black American man to reach any major final since 1996 Wimbledon. Shelton secured his spot in the final by defeating Frances Tiafoe in an all-American semifinal at the U.S. Open. He won the match with a score of 4-6, 6-3, 6-3, 7-5 and will face No. 1 seed Alexander Zverev on Sunday for the US Open title in New York.✨ 🎾 📸:Getty Images ✍🏾:

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is asking for the public's help to identify a 15 year old boy who approached officers at Charlotte Douglas International Airport on Wednesday, August 5th, stating he had been abandoned. He could not provide his name, address, or guardian information.

The teen stated he is 15 years old and was wearing a white T-shirt, gray sweatpants, and white tennis shoes. He is in the safe custody of the Mecklenburg County Department of Social Services (DSS).

Anyone with information on his identity or guardians should call 911 immediately. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
