Thinking about co-signing for a loved one? Consider these 7 questions before doing so...

1. If your loved one is unable to pay the bill, are you able to afford the payment?
A good friend always told me, never let anyone borrow something, you'll need back! The same goes for signing my name. I need my good credit and all my coins, thank you!

2. How well do you really know this person's money management habits and skills?
If you're unfamiliar with how your loved one is with managing their own monthly finances, this may not be a good idea for you to sign on the dotted line.

3. Is this person trustworthy?
Have you witnessed your loved one blatantly lie to people or places they owe money to? If so, do you think they would lie to you as well? Think about it.

4. Would they co-sign for you if the shoe was on the other foot?

5. Do they owe anyone else money?
How deep is their debt?

6. Why exactly do they need a co-signer?
If their credit is already jacked up from multiple late payments, collections and liens, what are the chances they are going to pay this bill in a timely manner?

7. Are they comfortable signing a contract with you about payments, late fees, etc?
Although you will still be responsible for the loan if they default, having your loved one sign a contract between you two and having it notarized may help you in the long run if you need to take them to court.

💰Before gearing up for my next business I analyzed every part of every business I had. I looked at the mistakes I made, I thought back to my happiest moments and jotted them down, I looked at when my profit margins were highest and when they were lowest. I looked at what caused me the most anxiety over the years. I looked at any unnecessary moves or expenses made. I looked at the best investments I made.

Analysis is 🔑 in business.

It's the key that most businesses ignore and then wonder why they aren't successful.

Here's a little business secret:

Your customers that are strangers can be the ones who make you rich and/or be more supportive than those close to you. Let me explain...

This doesn't mean that your family or friends don't love you. It means that they possibly only know one version of YOU. It could also mean they simply know nothing about business and so don't know HOW TO support you.

Don't ever let feelings towards those close to you get in the way of building your empire. There are tons of ways to market your services/products without family and friend support.

Figure out why you started this business and keep that in mind. Know and understand the audience you want to market to. These are the people you are building new relationships with.

If you have support from your loved ones consider it a blessing BUT if you don't consider it a blessing as well. God could be working on a new version of you to lead your loved ones to success!!!

When I started Elisa Plan 5 years ago I had plenty of "oh your doing something else now?" and "why do you always want to run something?" from people I loved. I didn't let that get in the way and I won't when it comes to any other venture.

As long as you have a plan in place, you're consistent and you're responsible...do it!!!

💰I don't want to see you being the 70 yr old man/woman working at Walmart because you didn't save for retirement! This isn't to shame anyone who has to do so now, it's to prevent people from being in that predicament in the future.

💵Entrepreneurs, Business Owners and Wantrepreneurs...understand YOU still have to plan for retirement as well!!!! So if you've had your own business all these years, you HAVE TO make a plan to start putting some money away right now. Here's one of the ways you can start if you're a FULL-TIME (not contributing to any other employer based retirement plan) SOLOPRENEUR (it's just you or just you and your spouse working as a full time employee in your business):

👏🏾Get a Solo 401k. You can go to a site like TD Ameritrade and set one up easily (you can call them as well to help you). Set aside money weekly or biweekly to contribute that you will not have to touch again until retirement age (this means having a budget in order and sticking to it!).

A Solo 401k allows to you contribute much more than an IRA and you can select either pre tax or post tax (Roth) contributions.

Transparent Moment: God has placed this on my heart ❤ since 2020 and I have refused to do it because it's pushing me waayyyy too far out of my comfort zone (like it feels awkward writing this) and logistically (in the real world) it makes no sense.

But God says where is your faith?! 🙏🏾All 2020 I was asking "God where are you? You've given me this idea but how will I pull this off? It really makes no sense! I watched people I helped because YOU said help them and they've turned on me in one form or another!"

He answered 🌿"Reciprocity doesn't come in the form you give it. Do not look for your blessing from the ones you give it to. Your blessings have already come in other ways and will continue to do so." 💫💫💫
