WNY Outing – Garden Factory Dinosaurs and Trains

Another outing ahead of the holiday!! The boys love dinosaurs so why not visit the Garden Factory for their Prehistoric Park!! With Covid, the last couple of winters had very few outings like this so it was great to get out on a grey WNY day and see something fun. The boys loved the dinosaurs and the model train display. Happy Holidays!!

Whenever you start something new there will be bumps in the road. It doesn't matter if it's something small like starting a meditation routine or something larger like starting a business. It's unavoidable. But the trick is,,,,you already know they are coming,,,,which puts you one step ahead. Here are 5 things to know.

1) At first you will suck. Yep, it's true. When we start something, we will suck at it. But that is normal!! So, accept it and move on to #2.

2) Don't give up while you are sucking at it. Seriously, muscle your way through and you will see how quickly you don't suck anymore.

3) Transformation is around the corner. And the reason I know this,,,,although the road is bumpy you will never go down to the level that you once were. That is because you are learning. And that is powerful. You may fall down but you won't be going back to the beginning. Cuz you are now too smart for that!!

4) Be aware of where you are. You can't get where you are going without knowing where you are. So, track the important steps to ensure that you are making those constant corrections and staying on the path.

5) Remember your 'why'. Which is quite simply, why you are doing what you are doing. It will motivate you during the hard parts.

Family time in Western New York!!

I think we may have put a bit much onto this past weekend's agenda because getting the boys up for the day this morning was more difficult than normal!!

We had two haircuts then a stop at the school's Holiday Fair, a quick lunch at home and then we drove out to Canandaigua for the Santa Train!! We still didn't get too close to Santa and only one kid tried!! We topped it off with dinner in downtown Canandaigua.

The next day was an annual holiday tradition, breakfast at a local diner then out to cut down our Christmas tree at Stokoe Farms.

By the time we got done decorating,,,,man, where we wiped out!! But it was so worth it. How cool it is to see the boys experience days like these leading up to the holidays so they know it's more than just about getting presents. It's being present. And joyful. And fun. And caffeinated. 😉

Like Marilyn said if you don't who will? Believing in yourself sounds good but it isn't always so straightforward. It seems easier to compliment others.

So everyday, stand in front of your bathroom mirror and say out loud,,,"You are beautiful. You are worthy. I believe in you." Then, reach out your hand and place it on (the reflection) of your shoulder, right on the mirror. Like you would do to a friend and say "You've got this."

Mean it. Repeat everyday.
