We promised updates from yesterday's race! Having a successful race comes down to having a solid plan in place. Yesterday that is exactly what our athletes demonstrated. With the heat index we had temps between 95-103 to race in. Wow did they crush it! Ashley finished 5th in her age group in the Olympic distance and managed to shave off 23 min total time from last year's race on the same course! Ann finished 2nd in her age group and cracked the top ten women's field overall. In her first ever attempt at the Olympic distance. As well as her third triathlon ever. Chris took on the huge challenge of completing a half ironman... He was out in that heat for 5hrs and 50 min. Chris stuck to his plan to stay cool and hydrated. He managed to crush it for the day and finish 5th as well in his age group. With all the challenges athletes faced on a race day like that. All we ever hope for is for our athletes to finish safe. Yesterday we were blown away by how hard everyone worked and stuck to their race plan. Everyone finished and not only finished but had fantastic races! Amazing race Chisago Lakes Triathlon today! Team drip kicked ass. We have a lot of photos and stuff to talk about so stay tuned! Great work to all athletes that competed today and we always try shout out to the race directors and volunteers that go through great effort to make these races safe and fun for everyone.
