What if one of the greatest threats to our health is also one of the most preventable?

Join us on Saturday, August 8th, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on What's Up Rochester as we welcome Dr. Ashanthi Gajaweera, a board-certified neurologist, Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurology at the University of Rochester, and founder of Healthspan Neurology PC.

With more than 25 years of experience caring for thousands of patients living with dementia, Dr. Ashanthi has dedicated her career to helping people understand that protecting brain health shouldn't begin after memory problems appear—it should start decades earlier. Her practice is built on the belief that the majority of dementia cases are preventable through proactive, evidence-based lifestyle changes.

As one of the few neurologists to also hold Menopause Society certification, Dr. Ashanthi has a unique perspective on the connection between menopause, midlife, and cognitive health. She is passionate about educating both women and men on why our 40s and 50s are some of the most important years for protecting our brains and reducing the risk of Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia.

During the show, we'll discuss the biggest myths surrounding dementia, early warning signs people shouldn't ignore, practical steps everyone can take to improve brain health, and the latest research offering hope for the future.

Whether you're thinking about your own health, caring for a loved one, or simply want to learn how to keep your brain healthy for years to come, this is a conversation you won't want to miss.
