DAY 6 OF 14 — INNISBROOK RESORT (COPPERHEAD COURSE)

📍 Palm Harbor, Florida

🐍 THE SNAKE PIT IS NO JOKE. Innisbrook’s famous closing stretch of holes 16–18 has been one of the toughest three-hole finishes on the PGA TOUR since 2003. Since 2000, it has accounted for more than 65% of the course’s total score over par.

⛳ NOT YOUR TYPICAL FLORIDA COURSE. Designed by Larry Packard, Copperhead features rolling terrain, elevation changes, and tight, tree-lined fairways—a very different look from the flat, water-heavy layouts many associate with Florida golf.

🏆 A TOUR TEST SINCE 2000. Copperhead has hosted the PGA TOUR event now known as the Valspar Championship for more than 25 years, challenging some of the best players in the world every spring.

🌺⛳ 14 DAYS OF GOLF COURSES — DAY 5: PRINCEVILLE MAKAI

Today, we’re heading to the north shore of Kauaʻi, Hawaii, to play Princeville Makai Golf Club — a course where the views are legendary, but the history behind the holes is just as impressive. 🌊🌴

🔥 5 FACTS YOU PROBABLY DIDN’T KNOW

🎬 1. A Hollywood connection
The mountain overlooking the course, Mount Makana, became famous as Bali Hai in the classic movie South Pacific. You can see this iconic landmark from the course’s signature seventh hole.

🏌️ 2. This course helped launch a legendary career
Princeville opened in 1971 as the first solo golf course design by Robert Trent Jones Jr., who went on to become one of the world’s most recognized golf course architects.

🌊 3. The signature hole is a serious test
The par-3 seventh stretches approximately 213 yards from the back tees, with a dramatic carry over rugged coastal terrain. The trade winds can push shots toward the ocean, making club selection and trajectory especially important.

🗺️ 4. It wasn’t always an 18-hole course
The original property featured 27 holes divided into three nine-hole layouts: Ocean, Lake and Woods. The modern Makai course combines the Lake and Ocean nines, while the Woods layout became a separate course.

🌧️ 5. The course gets an incredible amount of rain
Princeville averages approximately 78 inches of rainfall annually. In 2024, the course completed a $3 million refinement project that included bunker renovations, drainage improvements, cart-path upgrades and turf-care

Day 4 takes us to one of the most visually stunning golf courses in the country, known for its incredible lake views and one of the most unique holes in golf. 🌊

📍 Coeur d’Alene Resort Golf Course — Coeur d’Alene, Idaho

Famous for its floating island green on the 14th hole, Coeur d’Alene delivers a golfing experience unlike any other. Surrounded by the beauty of Lake Coeur d’Alene, this course combines breathtaking scenery with a memorable challenge.

The floating green moves, requiring a boat to retrieve golf balls from the water, making it one of golf’s most recognizable features. 🎯

You won’t find many courses where accuracy matters more than simply bombing it off the tee. Every shot has a purpose, and trouble is never far away.

Day 2 takes us to one of the most recognizable — and unforgiving — public golf courses in America. ⛳️

📍 Bethpage Black — Farmingdale, New York

Famous for the warning sign at the first tee recommending the course only for “highly skilled golfers,” Bethpage Black has earned its reputation.

Long holes, thick rough, massive bunkers, and demanding approaches make this one a serious test from start to finish. 😤
