We offer lessons in violin, viola, beginning cello, beginning bass, beginning piano and drumming. We hold the following core beliefs:
• Talent is developed, not inborn.
• All humans have the capacity to make and enjoy great music.

🎹 One opening in Piano Explorers this November!

If your 4–6 year old is always drawn to the piano, this is a fun place to start.

Piano Explorers gives young beginners a playful introduction to music through piano, singing, movement, games, and learning alongside friends. No pressure to sit through a traditional lesson—just lots of opportunities to explore, play, and build confidence.

We have one opening in our Thursday 4:45 class beginning in November.

Do group music lessons mean slower progress?

Sometimes, yes.

And we’re okay with that.

Because our goal isn’t simply to see how quickly a child can move through a method book. We’re trying to help them build something that lasts much longer:

⭐️ A sense of autonomy over their learning.
⭐️ A community of musical friends.
⭐️ The confidence to take on challenges at their own pace.

We’re playing the long game—helping kids become musicians who still want to make music years from now.

Nothing beats that moment when you realize your Teaching Assistant is a *REALLY* good teacher!

Yes, I knew when I hired her she was good, but I'm talking ✨reading my mind, doing exactly what I would do with the student✨ good!

We love our TA's, because they help us make sure every student gets exactly what they need in a lesson.

You may not have realized that someone has been quietly taking care of instrument repairs around the studio.

For the last two years, Joshua has been studying violin and bow repair. When something goes wrong-- a broken bridge, or a bow needing a rehair-- he often gets it back in the student's hands overnight.

And now he’s been offered a pretty amazing opportunity.

Joshua has been invited to spend a full year apprenticing with Will Bartruff, a member of the Violin Society of America, to really deepen his skills as a violin luthier.

The problem is, Joshua would never make this kind of financial investment in himself. 😂 He’d find a hundred practical reasons why he should wait.

So I’d really love to show him that the rest of us think he should do it.

🎶 The Wymers have officially gone full circle! 🎶

Three years ago, they joined us for Music Together with their two oldest still in diapers. Since then, they’ve sung, danced, wiggled, played, and made their way through every single Music Together collection. ❤️

And now they’re back where they started—but with a brand-new little musician along for the ride. Baby #3 gets to grow up surrounded by the same songs and music-making that have been part of this family’s life for the past three years.

This is one of my favorite things about Music Together: it isn’t just a class you take for a season. The songs come home with you. They become part of car rides, bedtime, silly moments in the kitchen, and the soundtrack of your kids growing up.

Congratulations, Wymer family, on going full circle! We’re so grateful we’ve gotten to make music alongside you through all these stages. 🥰🎵

Research on early childhood development points to ✨ ages 3–6✨ as an especially important window for learning—when children are remarkably receptive to sound, rhythm, movement, language, and patterns.

That’s part of what makes early musical experiences so valuable. What looks like drumming, experimenting, moving, and making very serious faces 😄 is also a child actively listening, coordinating, noticing patterns, and learning through play.

Meet Jenny, our newest guitar and bass instructor at Ringen Music Studio! Jenny’s musical journey began in elementary school with a guitar from her aunt, and has grown into 20 years of experience on guitar, 18 years on cello, and 16 years on bass. Along the way, she’s performed in orchestras, jazz ensembles, theater pits, worship teams, and bands spanning everything from funk to hardcore punk.

Jenny believes your lessons should help you become the musician you imagine yourself becoming. She starts with a strong foundation in technique, then uses the music you’re excited about to explore theory, develop new skills, and discover how music works across different songs and styles. Rather than trying to make every musician sound the same, Jenny helps you build the versatility and confidence to develop a sound that’s distinctly your own.

Help us welcome our new teacher Violet!

Her own cello journey began in 4th grade after begging her mom for private lessons, and she quickly discovered how rewarding learning an instrument can be. Now a senior at Mayo High School, Violet performs with the Symphonic Strings Honors Orchestra and SEMYO’s Concert Orchestra and has earned a varsity letter in music and Superior ratings at Solo & Ensemble. She understands that learning something new can be challenging, and she strives to create a supportive, encouraging environment where young musicians feel confident, engaged, and excited to grow.

Violet is already a familiar face around our studio, having spent the past two years assisting with summer camps, beginner piano classes, and string classes. She loves working with young musicians and is excited to help the next generation discover the joy of making music. Ready to get started?
