💰l🍭 Supporting Young Entrepreneurs in Our Community! 🍭
At Caring and Sharing Child Care Center, we believe financial literacy is about more than learning how to count money, it’s about helping our students understand entrepreneurship, decision-making, budgeting, investing in an idea, and turning creativity into opportunity! 📚💡
Our School-Age students have been exploring these concepts through Danny Dollar: The Lemonade Escapade, a story about a young entrepreneur learning valuable lessons about business and financial literacy.
We had the opportunity to take those lessons beyond the pages of a book and into the real world by connecting with Shamar Jones, a young entrepreneur right here in our community who operates his own candy business! 🍬👏🏾
Our students were able to see firsthand how an idea can become a business as we supported Shamar by purchasing candy from him and learning more about his entrepreneurial journey. Experiences like this help students make meaningful connections between what they are learning and what is happening in their own community.
To celebrate and encourage Shamar’s continued journey, Caring and Sharing gifted him two books focused on entrepreneurship and financial literacy: Danny Dollar: The Lemonade Escapade and Think Like a Boss: Kids Edition – 47 Money Making Ideas for Young Entrepreneurs. 📖🎁
We are proud to support a young person who is already putting entrepreneurship into action. When children see other young people creating, earning, saving, and building something of their own, they begin to realize:
