We can assist them, pray for them, and wish them well, yet in the end their happiness and suffering depend on their thoughts and actions, not on our wishes.

Gratitude is key to having a meaningful and fulfilling life. When we constantly complain about all the negative parts of our life, then the negative takes over our life. But when we show up with gratitude, we start to see the beauty and joy in our lives, and the not so good parts begin to fade into the background!!!

It is so true! Forgiveness isn't about the person that "wronged" you, it is about forgiving the situation, forgiving the experience, and yes, forgiving yourself. Releasing the hold that experience, that person, had on you. Forgiveness isn't even potentially the correct word for all that it encompasses. But ultimately when we face our "survivors guilt" and forgive ourselves for being in that situation, for "allowing it to happen" then we can finally begin to move forward, to see the situation for what it is, an experience, and even forgive the others because they were acting out their trauma. That is when we can truly heal!

It is critically important that we examine ourselves, and our motivations/thoughts/feelings/perspectives/stories. If we just go around blaming others for our mistakes and misfortunes we will miss so much of the equation. Just remember, whenever something goes wrong in your life, you are always there!
