The Submarine School of Music

What an incredible night at Lovin' Cup! Congrats to all our adult students for truly putting on a great show.

The Adult Student Showcase celebrates the many adults who walk through Submarine’s doors each week, often after long workdays and family responsibilities. These students chose to begin again, or try something for the very first time, picking up guitars, sitting at pianos, opening their voices, and committing to the vulnerable process of learning something new.

Taking lessons is one thing. Stepping onto a stage and sharing that work with an audience is another entirely. Each performance represents hours of practice, moments of doubt, small breakthroughs, and determination to keep going.

With that said, we invite friends, families, fellow students, and music lovers to come celebrate these performers as they claim a well-earned moment in the spotlight!

Every January, our kids bands design their own shirts in preparation for "Submarine Social" and wow they did not disappoint this year! We're doing an impromptu limited run of these designs. (Order in the next 24 hours) to go toward helping us reach our goal of raising $3,000 for music education in Rochester NY. Proceeds will cover the next three months of scholarships for all the amazing kids who come to our school. Thanks for supporting our mission year after year!

When we started our little music school in early 2020—just before the world changed—we had no idea what was ahead. Like so many others, we found a way to keep the music going through online lessons and community support.

Five years later, we’re proud to have over 150 students learning, playing, and growing together through one-on-one lessons, group classes, and music clubs.

But what truly makes our school special is our sliding scale tuition— and the people who believe in it, so no one is ever turned away because of cost. This has been at the heart of our mission from day one.

We don’t receive grants or outside funding; instead, we rely on grassroots support and small community events to keep our doors open and our programs accessible. Every concert, recital, and fundraiser helps sustain our sliding scale and the people it supports.

We’re committed to caring for our students, staff, and community in the ways we wish all small businesses could—and we couldn’t do it without you. Thank you!

Local musicians and kids from the Submarine School of Music are bringing the Carole King & Maurice Sendak classic Really Rosie to life — Saturday, Nov. 23 at 1PM at Lovin’ Cup! 💫

Starring Cammy Enaharo as Rosie, with The Submarine Singers as her crew of neighborhood pals — plus Alex Cote (drums), Alex Mockbee (bass), and Katie Morey (piano/director).

Packed with Carole King’s catchy tunes and Maurice Sendak’s playful lyrics, Really Rosie is full of imagination, heart, and childhood magic. 🌈✨
