Please note!

MORE HAPPENINGS AT THE OU CAMPUS OU STUDENT ORGANIC FARM (CSOF)! The CSOF has always had a small website in the Biology Dept (https://oakland.edu/biology/organic-farm/) but is not set up for news and quick turn-around stuff like “are we having a farmstand while it’s pouring rain”? etc… So we now have two outlets for that!

1.) The CSOF now has a separate FACEBOOK PAGE for the CSOF which is operated by farm staff and independent of the student club: https://www.facebook.com/ouorganicfarm Like us!

2.) TWEET! TWEET! The CSOF also is finally getting with the times and has a TWITTER account!

3.) The CSOF’s email is [email protected] (checked about twice a week or so)

These changes will make it much easier to communicate to our supporters what we are doing, when we’re doing it, where we’re doing it, and all the other news you may want to hear! We will be starting in FEB, so check us out!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! THINGS ARE HAPPENING HERE AT THE OAKLAND UNIVERSITY STUDENT ORGANIC FARM! We have been quiet for a while but want you to know we are still here. Our SOCIAL MEDIA is undergoing some updates….The Student Organic Farmers at OU has been the farm-sponsored student club for many years and has been our awesome cheerleader and all-around “PR Machine” and popular farmstand greeter squad. These awesome students are still coming, but they have changed their name: The STUDENT CLUB is now the GROWING GRIZZLIES. With the name change comes a new logo and a change in social media. The GROWING GRIZZLIES will now be communicating with students and community supporters through INSTAGRAM (Growing Grizzlies). Follow the club to find out about student activities as well as news about farm happenings, classes, volunteer days, farmstand, and all the news you want. Stay tuned for the next update in another post! ( This site will eventually be de-commissioned….)

The OU Student Farmers have been busy preparing for our Annual Thanksgiving Produce and Bake Sale - See you tomorrow at the Rec Center 10 - 2. Come early to get our famous organic pies and baked goods before we sell out! Lots of winter squash, leeks, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, salad mix, potatoes, onions, peppers, leafy greens and more.

YAAAAAAY ORGANIC FARMERS! The Oakland University Student Organic Farm won the "Future Workforce Fuelers" category of Best of MichBusiness last night! Thanks to all of you who have been students and volunteers at the farm and/or have supported us in other ways. We couldn't have done this without you! We especially appreciate the awesome CREW members we have had over the years.... THANKS!!!!! .As we always like to say, we grow more than vegetables....we grow leaders :)

We have lots of great veggies for you at Farmstand Oct 3rd (10 - 2)...NOTE - due to the rain we will NOT be at our usual white tent but under the canopy of the east door of the Oakland Center (facing O'Dowd Hall). Grab your umbrella and c'mon over and show! We have WINTER SQUASH!

We are extending our hoophouse by 50% to grow more veggies for YOU! By extending our hoophouse we will have more weather-protected space -as this season so dramatically showed us we need! Our wonderful student crew can work "smarter", and we can grow more of our highest value crops for a longer period of time. That means more revenues to help run the farm and provide programs for the campus and community. THANK YOU!
