Deerfield Elementary School - Avondale

We look forward to seeing all of our Deerfield families at CURRICULUM NIGHT tomorrow, September 1st. Each classroom teacher will offer 2 sessions (5:00-5:30 OR 5:45-6:15). We hope this will make it more convenient for families with multiple children.

Students are invited to attend—there will be supervision, and a show playing in the cafeteria to help occupy the time.

This is an important opportunity for you to learn about our curriculum and plans for the year. Please join us!

We held our annual flag-raising ceremony this morning! We raised a brand new flag while saying the Pledge of Allegiance. We also welcomed Scout Pack 26 to help us retire our old flags.

Many people were surprised to learn that the approved method for disposing of unserviceable flags is through burning them. This was an amazing experience to be part of…students and staff were equally awed!

After the ceremony, students gathered in the gym and listened to new (and returning) staff introduce themselves. It was a great start to a great day!

Just a reminder that there’s no school tomorrow, 8/28. Have a great weekend and we’ll see you on Monday!

We can't wait to welcome our students back! As the 2026–27 school year approaches, here are the important dates and information your family needs to get ready.

📧 Current Avondale families can expect to receive an email with additional information on Monday when registration opens.

Please note that this information applies to TK–12 students only. Families with children enrolled in our Early Learning Center (ELC) have received back-to-school information directly from the ELC. If you have questions, please contact the ELC office.

☀️🥪 Avondale is proud to participate in the Meet Up & Eat Up Summer Food Service Program, providing free meals to all children and teens ages 18 and under this summer!

📍 Auburn Elementary School
📅 June 22 – August 6, 2026 (Monday–Thursday)

Breakfast: 8:30–9:30 a.m.
Lunch: 11:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

Please note: Meals will not be served July 1–5 due to holiday closures.

No registration is required. Just stop by and enjoy a healthy meal!
