Welcome to a new school year. I started MI Student Advocacy Services in the fall of 2021 after hearing from so many parents that they either didn't understand the IEP process or that they didn't feel heard by their school district.

Personally I've been advocating for my own children for the last 16 years. One has an IEP and one had an IEP and is now on a 504 plan. Prior to that I worked in student services at a law school for 14 years and was a disability services coordinator.

Every year I speak to a few hundred families that need an advocate to help them navigate the IEP process, collaborate with their school teams or help them find other resources to support their kids.
