Ready for some outdoor adventures, learning new skills, and making lifelong friends? Cub Scout Pack 553 is welcoming boys and girls in Kindergarten through 5th Grade! 🌲⛺

Event & Sign-Up Info:

• Date: Wednesday, September 9th

• Time: 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM

• Location: Lincoln School Cafeteria (1450 20th Street, Rochelle, IL 61068)

• Cost: $85 for a 1-year Youth National Membership (Financial assistance is available)

What Scouts Do:
• Pinewood Derby & Blue and Gold Banquet
• Hiking, Camping, Fishing & Swimming
• Range and Target Activities
• Earning Badges & Rank Achievements
• Fun Field Trips & Special Outings

Scouting fits around busy schedules, with typically 1–3 Den (grade-specific) meetings and 1 Pack meeting per month. Scouts can also participate in seasonal fundraisers to earn money for camps, uniforms, and activities.

Every student learns differently, and we are so lucky to have a dedicated team supporting our students in English, Spanish, and Math, and in many cases, both! 🌟

📖 Jenni Siebert – Our Reading Interventionist, helping students turn pages into possibilities and build confident readers one book at a time.

⚽➕ Antonio Ruiz – Our Math Interventionist, who also coaches soccer! Originally from Spain, Antonio brings teamwork, determination, and problem-solving skills both on the field and in the classroom.

🧮⭐ Denise Orlikowski – Our Math Interventionist, helping students build strong math foundations, confidence, and a love for learning—one problem at a time.

The Grasshoppers in Mrs. Howell’s 4th grade dual language class were lucky enough to try out their new soft start puzzles this week! These hands-on puzzles are a fantastic way for our students to get their minds engaged, energized, and ready to learn first thing in the morning.

A huge thank you to the Rochelle Area Community Foundation (RACF) for awarding us the grant last year that made this purchase possible, and to the Tyler “Smitty” Smith Foundation for funding it. We are so grateful for your generous support of our classroom and our students! 💚

¡Los Saltamontes de la clase de inmersión dual de cuarto grado de la Sra. Howell tuvieron la suerte de probar sus nuevos rompecabezas de inicio suave (soft start) esta semana! Estos rompecabezas prácticos son una forma fantástica para que nuestros estudiantes despierten sus mentes, se llenen de energía y estén listos para aprender a primera hora de la mañana.

Now that we’ve introduced our grade-level teams, it’s time to highlight the incredible specialists working behind the scenes to keep our students thriving!

Our self-proclaimed "SPED Squad" was kind enough to share a little information about themselves so everyone can get to know them a bit better. We are pleased to introduce Tilton’s Special Education Team:

•Mrs. K (Jessica Kiesling): Entering her 4th year at Tilton, Mrs. K loves making math approachable through hands-on learning and games. Off-duty, you’ll find her riding motorcycles with her husband, collecting earrings, and cheering on her kids at their sporting events! 🎲

•Ms. Sam Lower: A lifelong Rochelle native also starting her 4th year at Tilton, Ms. Lower brings endless patience and creativity to her classroom. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, building LEGO masterpieces, and hanging out with her sweet dog, Oreo! 🪴

•Mrs. Tiffany Williams: Joining Tilton as the newest addition to the team, Mrs. Williams is another lifelong Rochelle resident. Outside of school, she loves camping with her family, checking out new restaurants, and traveling! 🏕️

Three teachers. Three unique superpowers. Each one a super hero 🦸‍♀️ in their own right. All working together towards one mission, helping our students become the very best versions of themselves.

Whether they’re breaking down complex math problems or supporting individual learning goals, this team is always working hard to help our students shine.

Meet Your 4th Grade Mono Language Team! 🍎✨

We are thrilled to kick off our teacher introduction series with our incredible 4th grade mono language team! To make things even more fun (and not embarrassing at all 😉), they decided to share photos of how they looked back when they were elementary students themselves. Talk about a glow-up! ✨

Miss Erdahl: A wonderful new face at Tilton this year!
Miss Hedrick: Another amazing new face joining us at Tilton!

Now that is some serious dedication! In fact, the only thing longer than Mr. McKinney’s tenure at Rochelle is how long it’s been since the Bears won the Super Bowl. (Sorry, Mr. McKinney, we still love you!)

New year, new look, same incredible team! 🍎✨
With all the exciting changes and updates we’ve undergone here at Tilton, we thought this was the perfect time to introduce, and re-introduce, the amazing faces your children interact with every single day.
Whether your family is brand new to Tilton or you’ve been part of our school community for years, there are a few new staff members to meet alongside the familiar legends your kids talk about at the dinner table.
Over the next couple of weeks, we’ll be sharing some photo and video introductions of our grade-level teams, specialists, and support staff right here on our page. Keep an eye out starting tomorrow to put a face to the names, and maybe catch a few fun surprises along the way! 📸🎬
