Meet our Vinton Campus Preschool Director, Ms. Audrey Walker!

Ms. Audrey has a genuine heart for both children and families and is passionate about creating a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment where little learners can grow and thrive. She began her journey in early childhood education with us at Parkway Preschool (Mountain Campus) six years ago as a 2-year-old teacher. Since then, she has taught in a 4-year-old classroom, directed two of our summer camp programs, and served on the administrative team as a school supervisor.

Her leadership is steady and thoughtful, bringing both structure and warmth to everything she does. We are thrilled to see her step into this new role and look forward to all that God has in store for her and Parkway Vinton Preschool! 🏫🩵

A message from Ms. Audrey ⬇️⬇️⬇️

"When I started working at Parkway, I was a teacher's assistant in a 2-year-old class, and I thought I had the best job ever! I truly felt like I had finally found what God had planned for my life. Teaching little kids was so rewarding and kept a constant smile on my face.

I loved being in the classroom and thought I would be there for a long time—and I was perfectly okay with that! The students I had the privilege of teaching became my best little friends, and at the end of each year, I had such a hard time saying goodbye. If it was that hard to say goodbye from year to year, how was I ever going to give up being in a classroom?

Well, God has a funny way of working, because that’s exactly what He asked of me next. I was given the opportunity to become the school supervisor full time, and I was terrified. But ultimately, I felt that this was where God was leading me.

So, with a lot of reservations and no idea how it would turn out, I said yes—and I am so glad I did! Once again, He knew exactly what I needed. I might not have had a class of my own anymore, but I had a whole school to love on every day—not just the students, but the staff as well.

I was able to connect with them in new ways, support them, and share the things I had learned along the way, just as others had done for me. And now, I have the honor of leading a new school, and I could not be more grateful! I'm so excited to see how God works through Parkway Vinton Preschool and all of the families that will come through our doors!
