It is with heavy hearts that we remember a truly special teacher, mentor, and friend, Mike Parker who retired from Rock Mills Jr. High School in 2014.

If you had Mr. Parker, you knew that you were going to learn! He expected you to work hard, challenged you to do your best, and encouraged you not to give up when things got difficult. He was an excellent math teacher who had a way of pushing his students to think, work through the problem, and believe that they were capable of figuring it out.

He taught determination, responsibility, perseverance, and the importance of believing in yourself. Many of us, students and fellow coworkers, can say, “Mr. Parker made a difference in my life.” That is a legacy that will live on for generations.

Thank you, Mr. Parker, for every lesson, every challenge, every word of encouragement, and every life you touched at Rock Mills Jr. High School.
