BIG NEWS FOR HVHS CHORALE!

We are thrilled to announce that the Hidden Valley High School Chorale, our advanced treble choir, has been selected to perform at the 2026 Virginia Music Educators Association (VMEA) Conference in Richmond, Virginia this November!

This is one of the highest honors a school music ensemble in Virginia can receive. Only a select number of ensembles across the entire state are chosen through a competitive audition process that includes multiple years of recorded performances showcasing musical excellence and artistry.

HVHS Chorale is proud to represent Hidden Valley, Roanoke County, and all of Southwest Virginia as the only choral ensemble selected from our side of the state.

This achievement reflects years of hard work, superior performances, dedicated students, supportive families, and a commitment to musical excellence. We are incredibly proud of these singers and excited to share their music on the state stage.

Congratulations to our Chorale students! 💙🎶

We are so proud of our final senior; and choir president, Kate Chadwick!

Kate has been in choir for four years. Choir has been important to her because it has given her the opportunity to make amazing friends who have positively influenced the way she thinks and acts.

After high school, Kate plans to serve an 18-month mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After completing her mission, she plans to attend Brigham Young University to study International Relations.

Kate’s favorite choir memory is attending competition in Richmond during her sophomore year. Her favorite song she has sung in choir is “Rise My Soul.”

Choir will continue to play a significant role in Kate’s life by reminding her of the importance of collaboration and creating meaningful connections with those around her.

Congrats! 💙💛🎶

We are so proud of our senior, Jay Vidal!

Jay has been in choir for two years. Choir has been important to her because it has given her the opportunity to express different kinds of music in different ways and continue growing as a performer.

After high school, Jay plans to attend Virginia Commonwealth University to major in Journalism. She also plans to participate in the choirs at VCU and be involved in VCU Opera.

One of Jay’s favorite choir memories is teaching the step routine for “Dance!” and later getting to meet Robert T. Gibson at All-State the following year. Her favorite choir songs are “How Can I Keep From Singing” and “If Ever I Would Leave You.”

Choir will continue to play a significant role in Jay’s future as she continues performing and pursuing music opportunities throughout college.

Congrats! 💙💛🎶

We are so proud of our senior, Lillian “Lily” Stanley!

Lily has been in choir for seven years. Choir has been so important to her because it has given her a place to do what she loves every other day for the past seven years. Through choir, she has learned not only about music, but also about herself and how meaningful music is in her life.

After high school, Lily plans to attend James Madison University to study Speech-Language Pathology.

One of Lily’s favorite choir memories is attending All-Virginia Choir. Although it is difficult for her to choose a favorite song she has sung in choir, she says it is between “If Ever I Would Leave You” and “Solstice Song” (although she says she will never stop talking about “Chili Con Carne”).

Choir will continue to play a significant role in Lily’s future as she plans to stay heavily involved in music throughout college and hopefully for the rest of her life.

Congrats! 💙💛🎶

We are so proud of our senior, Jackson Lubeck!

Jackson has been in choir for one year. Choir has been important to him because it has helped him improve his singing abilities and grow more confident in his musical talents.

After high school, Jackson plans to serve a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Cusco, Peru before attending Brigham Young University. At BYU, he plans to dual major in Commercial Music and Entrepreneurial Management.

Jackson’s favorite choir memory is auditioning for a solo for the first time. His favorite song he has sung in choir is “Waterfalls.”

Choir will continue to play a significant role in Jackson’s future as he hopes to perform in choirs at BYU and continue developing his singing skills.

We are so proud of our senior, Makenna Wyatt!

Makenna has been in choir since the start of her senior year. Choir is important to her because she has loved singing ever since she was little and has enjoyed being able to continue that passion through choir.

After high school, Makenna plans to attend Radford University to major in Nursing.

Although she joined choir during her senior year, Makenna has enjoyed being part of the choir community and sharing her love of music with others.

Congrats! 💙💛🎶

We are so proud of our senior, Snow McGuire!

Snow has been in choir since the start of her senior year. Choir has been important to her because of her lifelong love for music and the opportunity to continue growing through singing and performance.

After high school, she plans to attend Radford University to pursue a degree in Graphic Design.

One of her favorite choir memories was from her previous school when students rallied together to support a fellow student who was sick in the hospital. His favorite song he has sung in choir is “My Favorite Things” from The Sound of Music.

Although she is not yet sure how choir will continue to play a role in her future, she knows music will always be something meaningful that she can return to throughout life.

Congrats! 💙💛🎶
