Radford University proudly welcomed the participants in the 2026 Summer residential Virginia Governor's School for Medicine and Health Sciences to Radford University Carilion this morning in Roanoke. Over the next three weeks, these students from across the state will explore medicine and the health sciences by participating in hands-on explorations at Radford University, Carilion Clinic, Roanoke College, Virginia Western Community College, the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine, the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at VTC, the Bradley Free Clinic and more. This week, Radford University Carilion once again welcomed local 10-12 graders to our Highlander home for Carilion Clinic's annual Camp Carilion program. This is an opportunity for students to learn more about health professions through hands-on exercises and interactive demonstrations. This year, the campers met with students and faculty from our Respiratory Therapy, Physician Assistant, Emergency Services, Nursing and Occupational Therapy departments. We're excited to welcome these aspiring healthcare professionals to our home in Roanoke every summer and hope they will consider Radford as the next step in their education!
