Raleigh Court Presbyterian Church Preschool

RCPC Preschool has been serving young children since 1980. We strive to provide a nurturing weekday ministry to children of our church and community.

Raleigh Court Presbyterian Church (RCPC) Preschool was established to provide a ministry to preschool-aged children within the church and the greater community. The staff works together to lovingly guide children through a program of spiritual, physical, emotional and mental growth. We strive to introduce children to the wonder of God through His creations. We also teach them the importance of lov

e, tolerance and cooperation as ways to respond to God’s love. We believe in the importance of teaching children the difference between right and wrong behavior and modeling proper values and morals that will guide them throughout their lives. Through a warm, accepting climate and well-planned curriculum, our preschool provides children a natural transition from home to school. Each child is encouraged to grow in independence as well as in social development and in the development of his or her own unique talents and abilities. Special attention is given to help each child develop a sense of self-worth, respect for others, effective working habits and a desire to learn.

How LUCKY is RCPC, to call one of the stars of the St. Patrick’s Day parade (and many of Roanoke’s big events) our very own Ms. Wendy?! Ms. Wendy, along with the rest of our students and staff enjoyed celebrating St. Patrick’s Day today.

In the 1970s, a group of families approached Raleigh Court Presbyterian Church about a preschool program for children with special needs. Educational opportunities for these children did not yet exist within the local public school system, and in response to that request the first preschool students came into our church. As those classes for special needs children grew into public education, our preschool transitioned into the program you know today. With over forty years of service, we now have former students dropping their kids at preschool.
Last Sunday, Rev. Whaley preached on the words of Jesus, "Let that little children come to me" and spoke to why a church would make ministry with and for children central to its identity. We are grateful to every family who trusts their child to our care each week. May we honor each child as the precious life they are.

We kicked off the holiday season with a special Nutcracker performance by Roanoke Ballet Theatre! The dancers were amazing and our students loved every minute!
