A Jewish School for children of all faiths. We offer what no other school can. We cater to each child's educational needs while providing a loving environment.

We provide a positive early childhood experience within a solid caring and understanding framework. Our preschool is a stimulating, challenging, age appropriate program in a safe, nurturing environment that contributes to each child’s individual self-esteem and dignity. Our curriculum is based on a clear knowledge of childhood development, the stages of socio-emotional and physical growth, and theories of how preschool children best learn.

A message from one of our parents😭😘🥰

"Today marks the official end of preschool for our child and our time at Jewish Community Preschool (now called Jewish Preschool for the Community).

To say this day is bittersweet is an understatement. We have been blessed to be a part of this wonderful school community since our child was just shy of 2-years-old. As a working parent, sending your child to day care is incredibly stressful. Every day you send the thing most precious to you to be taken care of and trust they are in good hands when out of your sight. I can say without a shadow of a doubt, I have never questioned the dedication, love, and care our child has received at JPC

Our child has thrived under the leadership and passion of all the teachers and staff, both academically and as a person of this world. We know they are ready to take on Kindergarten because of what they have poured into our child and our family.

While today we are a little sad, we know that the future is bright for our child! Thank you JPC and everyone we have been lucky enough to call family these last 4 years."

Every family that comes through our doors becomes part of our family and while everyone moves on, JPC's doors are always open and we can't wait to hear all about their adventures. ❤️❤️❤️

A message from one of our families😘

"In the mom groups, and opinion articles, and honestly so many places, you ready “daycare and preschool are so bad for kids! Love them and take care of them yourself! You’re the mom!”

And then in the next breath, “it takes a village!”

Then there’s a lot of how kids used to be able to play more and be kids longer.

What’s funny to me is the inherent misogyny built into these statements. A dad rarely hears how he should quit his career for child care. Quite the opposite. Further, the village has ALWAYS been around.

Queen of the castle? Man, she’s got nannies and wet nurses, governesses and maids. That stepford wife? Well, she had babysitting co-ops, family members, friends and play dates. Those kids weren’t always home with her. Hell, sometimes they were out roaming the streets. She had things to do!

We send our kids to others because we need to “fill our cups”. Our kids thrive because we give them opportunities to meet people and, gasp, use our village.

For me, preschool allows me to love my kids more. I get to see them like little people. They get to learn away from me, they have stories to tell! Things to teach me! I get to meet new, awesome people because they have their own social circle! They build their immune systems and their social norms!

Basically, I don’t know who needs to hear this but your kid is thriving in your village that you’ve built for them. The modern village isn’t home based anymore, but that’s okay.

All in all, thanks to the teachers at JCP. You help me be a better parent."

It makes our heart happy to hear how happy we make parents "Jewish Community Preschool is wonderful and all-inclusive. They have great rates, wonderful teachers and a diverse group of families who are all made to feel welcome, regardless of faith. They are one of the most flexible programs around, too, with 1,2,3,4,and 5 day options (full or half day) in addition to early drop off and late pickup for families that need it. I can’t say enough about how wonderful they are! They’re located close to VA Western Community College, about 10 minutes max from Cave Spring Corners. They’re also really flexible and supportive with potty training whatever level your kiddo is at!"

We always love to hear what our parents have to say! "Today is my sons official last day at JCP. School has been over and camp is now done for him as well. My heart feels so sad even though we are excited to move forward. I just wanted to say how incredibly grateful I am for this special loving safe place. A thank you All the teachers and their hard work and all in between. We are going to miss everyone so so much. Part of me doesn’t want it to be over but all good things come to close they say. I didn’t think it would be over this fast. Thank you JCP community for all that you are! My son and I love you all!❤️

A review from one of the parents at our school. We feel the same way about every "family member" who walks though our doors!

"My heart is so full of love and appreciation. Can I be sappy on here?! Is this allowed occasionally? JCP has such an amazing group of providers who truly go above and beyond any expectations a parent could have for a facility. It's absolutely evident that you all pride yourself on centering care around child development knowledge and play centered learning.

Each child is treated like your own. Caring, nurturing, safe environment. Everyday you offer programs that reflect beautifully on an extension of our own personal lifestyle, parenting, and values. From yoga, to cooking, science, art, sign language, loads of reading- I love it!! Parting with her for 2 days from 9-5 seemed tough initially because we in the past have homeschooled our older 3 initially while I work from home, then, selectively transition them out. Now, I feel it's not enough considering the enrichment and social interaction. I wish this program spanned through Elementary or heck, High School.😆

I cannot thank you all enough and I know it's too lengthy to include in a main page review. (Will still post a small one there end of month) Each child and family we've encountered within your walls has just been a pleasure to meet. So friendly, so warm. So thank you fellow families! Avelyn (monkey's group) has had a really great first 2 weeks. So, thank you for welcoming us into the JCP family!! Have a great weekend all."
