Bonny Branch is a Ballroom/Social Dance instructor, and Hatha Vinyasa Yoga Instructor in Roanoke, Virginia. She invites you to come move with her on the dance floor, in the yoga studio, or in your own living room! Bonny began her professional dancing adventures by aerial dancing off the side of a 7 story building, as a company member with the Roanoke Ballet Theatre. After a couple of summers at th
e American Dance Festival, and an introduction to partner dance at Arthur Murray, Bonny fell deeper in love with partner movement and moved to San Francisco to pursue her dreams. There she was trained to lead and follow, and teach 15 different partner dances at the Ballroom Dance Teachers College in SF. While there she began competing nationally in Rhythm dances in the Bronze, Silver & Gold categories. She then taught at Cheryl Burke Dance, Allegro Dance, Just Dance Ballroom, and Imperial Ballroom in the Bay Area. After moving to Maine, she earned her first 200 hr. yoga teacher certificate from ShivaShakti Yoga, and her second from 8 Drops Yoga, with Katie Silcox and Chrisandra Fox Walker. She has also trained for 90 hours with Rod Stryker at ParaYoga. Bonny continued to teach dance for three years at Swing & Sway Dance in Rockland, Maine where she was the lead female instructor and trained students to dance socially, to compete, and to perform on the stage. While at Swing & Sway she competed with her professional partner Christian Clayton. Now, back in Roanoke, Bonny is giving private lessons, and teaching group classes, at a variety of locations. Bonny is good with both the beginner mover and the more advanced student looking for better technique. She can help you craft a great wedding First Dance, and get you ready for the next party or gala event, or give you the gift of a new lifelong hobby. Her yoga teaching style is attentive and slow-paced with an emphasis on what your body needs and what your goals are. Yoga lessons include breathing techniques, meditation, asana (poses), mantras & chanting. Bonny's yoga students experience feeling calmer, stronger, more flexible, and refreshed.
