Highland Park PTA Back to School Night!!

Join us for a free Hot dog dinner!!

Join the PTA for $8.00 and your family eats for free.

What to expect:
*Tables for membership will be set up in front of the school.
Cash and card will be accepted.
*Every member will receive tickets for their family to receive free dinner.
*PTA general membership meeting will commence at 6:10.
*Doors open to the school after a short PTA meeting.
*Teachers welcome you to stop by your child’s classroom and see the great things happening in school!

We hope that you all had a great summer and the school year is off to a good start. With budget changes that have taken effect, this year may look a little different in school, class, and the PTA. Please know that we are still committed to serve and support all of our students and teachers here at Highland Park Elementary. We love helping our Hawks soar!

HPES PTA Back to School Night is Thursday, August 27th, 5:30 p.m.- 7:00p.m. See your student's classroom and speak with their teachers. A hot dog dinner will be served for you and your children with purchase of PTA membership. Please plan to come join us!

Volunteers are needed for this event! We know that everyone wants to visit classrooms, so we are hoping to cover shorter 30 minute shifts! Please sign up if you or a loved one are able to help. Our volunteers are what make events like this possible; they are greatly needed and appreciated. Thank you for your consideration.

We could barely stop the playground fun long enough to snap pics at Popsicles in the Park! After seeing students at this event and open house we can’t wait to see all our hawks on the first day of school next week! 💙 💚

Registration/verification and beginning of the year forms can be completed online this year! Online registration is available for all new RCPS families at all grade levels, kindergarten through 12th grade. All forms and information can be accessed through ParentVue. If you have never used this platform, please contact our office manager, Ms. Mone, for assistance.

Effective immediately, parents can complete the following forms online:
- Emergency Card
- Device Agreement
- AUP
- Media Release
- Permission for Medicaid Billing
**The Device Agreement, Media Release, and Acceptable Use (AUP) values now carry over from year-to-year. They are considered accepted/rejected until changed by a parent.

Parents must still physically complete the following forms:
- Nurse Information
- Existing RCPS families who, due to address change, are changing schools must complete initial registration in person at their new school.

Popsicles in the Park: Wednesday, August 5
5pm-6pm
(tentative time but save the date)

Orientation and Open House: Friday, August 7
9am-10am: PK Orientation
10am-11am: Kindergarten Orientation
12pm-2pm: First Grade-Fifth Grade Open House

Back to School Night: Thursday, August 27

Disappointed in our City for under funding our school. These cuts are deep and will be felt throughout Roanoke.
