Frigid temps are here—please help us spread the word to those in need of shelter this weekend!

🌙 The Least of These the will open for overnight shelter starting Friday, 1/24, from 7 PM – 7 AM with 48 cots, meals, and space for pets.

🏠 RAM House - Roanoke Area Ministries is open Saturday 8 AM – 4 PM, closed Sunday.

⛪️ Belmont Presbyterian Church is open 24 hours starting Saturday to Monday with cots, food, and warmth.

Let’s work together to keep our neighbors safe, warm, and cared for. 💙

Due to the forecasted inclement weather and the State of Emergency issued for the Commonwealth of Virginia, all schools and offices will be closed on Monday, January 26. All extracurricular activities and athletic events are also canceled for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Due to the State of Emergency, the School Board Workshop scheduled for 6:30 p.m. will be held virtually.

We hope this early notification helps your family plan, so you can focus on staying safe during the storm. We will continue to monitor conditions and share updates as early as possible each day next week.

As a reminder, students will bring home paper learning packets today with assignments, just in case we implement Remote Learning Days next week. We shared details about this with families yesterday, and more information is also available on the RCPS website. For now, though, we hope students enjoy their snow day on Monday. Please stay safe and have a good weekend!

We are deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of Nancy Louise Clemons, a cherished member of our community, a former board member, and a dear friend to all of us at Kids Soar. Nancy’s passion for children, her generous spirit, and her unwavering support helped shape our organization in meaningful ways. We are forever grateful for her leadership, kindness, and dedication.

Please join us in keeping Nancy’s family and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Her legacy of service and compassion will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone she touched.
