What better way to end the school year than by planting a tree? Our Environmental Science class planted a Ginkgo tree beside the playground, leaving behind a living legacy for future students to enjoy.

What a blessing it was for Roanoke Catholic School to share in the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage during its visit to the Diocese of Richmond last night. Seeing our Lord in the Eucharist carried with such devotion by Fr. Kevin Segerblom, surrounded by Bishop Knestout and the many clergy who serve our diocese, was a profoundly moving sight as the procession made its way through our campus and continued around the Basilica of St. Andrew. After a beautiful Mass, we were grateful to offer the Gillespie Gymnasium as a space for the dinner that followed, supporting this grace-filled moment for our community.

What a fun way to celebrate an incredible season! Our RCS Drama Club gathered at the Grandin Theatre for a Little Shop of Horrors cast party, where students watched the show on the big screen and saw our school featured on the marquee. The evening ended with the announcement of next year's production: Beauty and the Beast.

Our Upper School Awards and Capping Ceremony this afternoon was a special celebration of student achievement, leadership, and dedication. We proudly honored our Celtic Cross members and recognized the top four grade point averages in the Class of 2026: Valedictorian Khang Tran, Salutatorian Justinne Llavore, along with Eva Coniglione and Alexis Andrews.

The afternoon began with the beloved Senior Walk tradition as the Class of 2026 took their “final walk” through the school, greeted by cheers from students lining the hallways on their way to the gym.

The afternoon concluded with a heartfelt capping ceremony, where each senior was met on stage by their parents or guardians, who placed their graduation cap on their head in a memorable and emotional moment.
