We wrapped up our Read to Them One Book program last month, but that didn’t stop the fun at Zuckerman’s Farm last night for our Family STEM Night! 🐷🕸️🌱

From Charlotte’s Web spinning, Wilbur’s pig pen building, Templeton’s trash sort, and seed planting, we had such a wonderful time learning and creating together with our students and families.

🌎Each 5th grade student received an “Energy Kit” to take home and ‘teach an adult’ how to conserve energy at home (and save money, too!). The Take Charge Program is courtesy of Appalachian Power. Thank you for your partnership with RCPS!

We kept the One Book excitement going with our Book Character Dress Up Day and Parade! 📚✨So much creativity, fun, and love for reading on display what a great way to celebrate our favorite stories! 📖🎉

📚 Mrs. Hackley, our former librarian, joined in on our Charlotte’s Web fun and read a chapter to our kindergarten students. We loved sharing the story together with her! 🐷🕸️

This morning our students learned about financial literacy during a special visit from Carter Bank! 💰📚

We are proud to partner with them as part of our Virginia Reads One Book program this year and are so thankful for their continued support of our students and school community.

📚 We wrapped up Read Across America Week with special visitors from Carter Bank and The Roanoke Sheriff’s Office, who came to read to our classrooms. Thank you for helping make reading fun for our students! ❤️

We kicked off our Virginia Reads One Book program yesterday! 📚 Thanks to Carter Bank and Read to Them, every student got a copy of E.B. White’s “Charlotte’s Web”, a piggy bank, and financial literacy tips. We can’t wait to read this special story with students and their families over the next couple of weeks! 🐷🕷️
