Placing TXV sensing bulbs on the wrong suction headers causes a feedback loop where valves overfeed or starve the evaporator. This results in erratic superheat, fluctuating suction pressures, drastically reduced cooling capacity, and a high risk of liquid refrigerant flooding (slugging) back to the compressor.
Vertical angular shaft alignment refers to the angle difference between two coupled shafts when viewed from the side, meaning one shaft points slightly upward or downward relative to the other. Horizontal angular alignment is the same type of misalignment but viewed from above, where one shaft points slightly left or right compared to the other. In both cases, the shaft centerlines intersect at an angle instead of running perfectly parallel, which can cause vibration, premature bearing wear, coupling damage, and energy loss if not corrected.
Vertical Parallel Alignment: The centerlines of the two shafts are parallel, but the shafts are positioned at different heights. Horizontal Parallel Alignment: The centerlines are parallel in the same horizontal plane, but the shafts are offset side-to-side (left or right of each other).
A walk-in defrost timer (or “defrost clock”) manages the cycle between active cooling and coil-defrosting to prevent ice buildup. It uses an internal clock motor to slowly rotate a wheel with pins. At set times (usually 1–4 times a day), the pins trigger a switch that turns off the compressor and activates heaters to melt ice, before returning the unit to normal cooling.

A dual pressure oil safety switch on a walk-in freezer compressor is basically watching two pressures at the same time:
* Oil pump discharge pressure
* Crankcase/suction pressure
It does not care about raw oil pressure by itself. It cares about the difference between those two pressures — called net oil pressure.
The compressor’s oil pump has to create enough pressure above crankcase pressure to force oil through the bearings and moving parts.

A technician who is familiar with the equipment layout, control sequence, and component function can isolate problems faster, avoid misdiagnosis, and troubleshoot with confidence instead of guesswork.
