🎓💛 Celebrating 5 Local Childhood Cancer Survivor High School Graduates! 💛🎓

Recently, BeholdBeGold had the incredible honor of celebrating five local childhood cancer survivors as they reached an important milestone: high school graduation!

We were grateful for the opportunity to connect with these graduates and their families at the recent ASK ChildhoodCancer Foundation Fun Walk, where we personally delivered graduation gifts and encouragement cards to recognize their achievements.

Because of your support, five local survivors were reminded that they are seen, valued, celebrated, and that their future is worth believing in!

For many people, graduation is a milestone.

For survivors, it can mean so much more.

Behind every diploma are years of treatments, hospital visits, many missed school days, learning challenges, uncertainty, setbacks, and incredible resilience.

Many survivors continue to navigate the late effects of treatment long after therapy ends. These challenges can include learning difficulties, cognitive late effects, fatigue, anxiety, physical limitations, ongoing medical appointments, and other invisible struggles that can impact school, daily life, and future goals.

As a childhood cancer survivor-led organization, we understand that high school graduation is not just about earning a diploma. It is a celebration of perseverance, hope, courage, resilience, and the strength it takes to keep going, even when the road is difficult.

For many survivors, graduation is not only a celebration of academic achievement, but also a testament to their ability to adapt, overcome obstacles, navigate late effects, and continue pursuing their dreams despite the challenges they may face.

For some survivors, there were moments when simply getting through treatment was the goal.

Moments when the future felt uncertain.

Moments when milestones like high school graduation may have seemed so far away.

Yet here they are!

Graduating.
Dreaming.
Moving forward.
Building a future.

At BeholdBeGold, these are the moments that matter! These are BeholdBeGold moments, celebrating resilience, recognizing accomplishments, and reminding survivors that they are never alone on their journey!

Through our pillars of Community Connection and Survivor-Centered Resources, we were honored to celebrate these incredible survivors and remind them that they are seen, supported, celebrated, and deeply valued.

Moments like these are only possible because of YOU, our supporters, donors, volunteers, and community partners. Every donation, every share, every volunteer hour, and every act of encouragement helps us continue creating meaningful moments of connection, recognition, and support for survivors and their families.

Happy Heavenly Birthday Cam 💛

Today we remember and celebrate Cam on what would have been his 18th birthday.🎂

We remember the day we surprised Cam by walking into his hospital room to celebrate his 17th birthday a year ago.💛We introduced ourselves and shared a little about BeholdBeGold and our heart for supporting and encouraging childhood cancer patients and survivors going through treatment.💛

Before even stepping into Cam’s hospital room, we could already feel the positive energy, the optimistic mindset, and the strength he carried despite everything he was going through. Cam’s courage and spirit left a lasting impression on all of us.💛

Cam had such a charismatic personality. 💛He had a way of making anyone around him laugh and smile. 💛He carried one of the biggest hearts, always held onto faith and hope, and continues to leave a lasting impact on those who had the privilege of knowing him.💛

When we came into the room and sat down to visit for a bit, sitting next to Cam’s mom, we could also feel the energy of a mother’s deep love. ❤️The way she looked at her sweet and courageous son said so much. ❤️As she shared a bit of his story with us, we could tell how deeply loved Cam was and how proud she was of the incredible young man he had become. ❤️That kind of love and strength could be felt throughout the entire room.❤️🥹✨

Being able to spend that special moment celebrating his birthday, bringing a few gifts, and sharing smiles together meant so much. 💛We will always remember the moment we all said together, “Behold, Be Gold!”💛🎗️💪✨

Your memory continues to shine bright and will always be remembered. 💛✨Today we honor Cam, his life, 🎂🎉🥳and the impact he continues to have on so many people.💛

Cam’s courage and light will continue to inspire others. ✨His story, his strength, and his spirit will never be forgotten.✨💛

We are keeping his family and everyone who loved him in our hearts today and every day.💛😘
