Hi everyone! I wanted to share a virtual summer camp opportunity for students entering grades 2-6 who receive any kind of special reading instruction at their school. It's arts-based (which is why I thought of all of you!) and free. Please see the photo I'm attaching for more information, and feel free to pass it along to anyone you know who might be interested!

We are missing our art camp friends this summer! Hope you are all doing well and staying safe.

Dan is working on a special project with the City of Roanoke to reimagine the space underneath the Memorial Bridge (at the end of the Norwich section of the Roanoke River Greenway). He is looking for teens to help out for a couple of hours or more. Maintaining social distance will be easy with such a big canvas, and most of the work will be done in the shade. If you know of a Patrick Henry student (or really a teen from any local high school) who would enjoy this fun community service opportunity, please share this post and message us for sign-up information!

Arts & Extras: Bridge to diversity Viewed through imagination’s playful lens, the long, sweeping concrete arches underneath the Memorial Avenue bridge in Southwest Roanoke could call to mind the aqueducts of ancient Rome.

We loved our last week of art camp! Such fun and sweet kids in both groups!

Our first week of Art Camp was amazing! We had such a great time with these wonderful young artists!

We're getting so excited for art camp--less than two weeks until our first day! Thanks to everyone for your great response to our call for registrations. Our morning sessions are now full, but we could fit a kid or two into some of the afternoon sessions (June 10-13, 17-20, or 24-27 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.) if you know anyone who would like to join us!
