We had a great time celebrating the life and legacy of Dolly Parton today at school. We plan to have an entire page in this year's yearbook dedicated to Dolly, and we have tons more pictures to share on that page. We have shared a few photos from today here. Enjoy!

Congrats, Ms. Smith!

Chelsey Smith, kindergarten teacher at Cloudland Elementary School, is the latest Northeast Community Credit Union Helping Teachers Teach grant winner.

Smith applied for the grant to purchase new tables for her kindergarten classroom. The tables currently in her classroom are too large for the young students.

“Students cannot sit comfortably at their tables to do their work,” she said. “New classroom tables can greatly enrich the learning experience in a kindergarten classroom.”

Northeast Community Credit Union awards $300 every month to a classroom to be utilized for classroom needs, classroom activities, and academic enrichment. Helping Teachers Teach is open to teachers within Carter, Johnson, Unicoi, Sullivan and Washington counties who are members of Northeast Community Credit Union. Area teachers may become members online or at any NCCU location and can download the grant application on the credit union’s website: www.BeMyCU.org.

Parents,
Please be advised that Highway 19E is closed between Simerly Creek and Tiger Creek. If you are unable to arrive at school for parent pick-up, all students will remain in the building until the road reopens. You may visit the school once the road has been cleared.

Bus routes that are unaffected by the closure will operate as scheduled. If your child rides the bus and you're unable to be at home upon their arrival, please contact the school to inform us. In such cases, we will keep your child in the school building. Additionally, bus drivers will bring back any student to the school if a parent is not available upon arrival.

We would LOVE to have you join us! Set up a booth, bring a fun game or activity, hand out goodies, show off your business, or just come hang out and support our students! 💙💛

This is about more than a football game — it’s about bringing our school and community together and giving our kids a day they’ll remember. 🥹🏈

We are SO incredibly thankful for the local businesses that continue to pour into our students and support our school. It truly takes a village, and we are lucky to have such an amazing one! 💙
