🍂 Every fall, college representatives from across the country visit CBO to meet our high school seniors as they decide where they'll spend the next four years.

Thank you so much to professionals from Augustana College, Boston University and Tulane University, for sharing their expertise on what each school has to offer and helping answer any questions our Scholars had!

From invitation to inspiration! 💫

🌞 This summer, Melissa, a junior at Illinois State University studying Human Development and Family Science, was invited by the Government of Zacatecas on a cultural trip to explore the history, traditions, and roots that shape who she is.

During her journey, Melissa connected with her heritage and met inspiring leaders, including Zacatecas Governor David Monreal Ávila and the municipal president of Valparaíso. She also gave back by helping restore an abandoned park for local youth in Zapata, Fresnillo. 🌳

What a meaningful celebration of culture, community, and service! We're so proud of you, Melissa! 💛

Safa, sophomore at Scripps College, returns ready for action! 🏫 📚

During her first semester in college, Safa, along with 2 other students, created an ASL Club to focus on deaf/hard of hearing cultural awareness and the opportunity to pick up basic American Sign Language.

Safa told us, "I knew that this club could connect my identity to my larger campus community."

Alongside her commitment to this club, Safa has also decided to return to campus as an Resident Assistant this year! We encourage all our Scholars to get involved and take advantage of activities and opportunities on campus.

$190,000 raised in one night — and a $1 million campaign just launched. 🎓💙

That's how we celebrated 20 years of CBO. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make it happen.

Missed the night? There's still time to help us reach $1 million for the next generation of Scholars. Visit aesbid.com/ELP/CBO2026/Donation.

📦 Maelyn moves in!

This fall, Maelyn, a freshman at Tulane, had an easy move-in with the help of her family. We couldn't be more proud of all our Scholars for navigating through challenging times and managing to keep education a priority.

We hope everyone is having a smooth transition back to school, and we can't wait to hear about all of the accomplishments this year!
