Today, 2 of Spoto’s FFA members attended the HERD cattle series clinic showmanship finale. Despite the wind and rain, all showman that attended did exceptional. Sydney S. placed 3rd in her heat and LaShelle S. placed 3rd overall Senior showman. Proud of both of these kiddos. May the determination and accomplishments you make each day drive you to achieve your goals.

Florida State Fair Youth Beef 2 show is a wrap. Spoto’s FFA members did us proud and the hard work they put into their projects showed.
For show:
Loretta Lynn (mostly red with red face) placed 1st in class and held her own in the division final drive. Judge said she had all the right pieces and just loved her.
Norma Jean (white faced heifer) placed 3rd in class and the judge loved her coloring and stripes.
Exhibitor: LaShelle Spangler
Nova, (all black), placed 2nd in class and came back in the final drive for some tough competition. Although she wasn’t selected for overall champion, she has some excellent comments and held her own.
Exhibitor: Carter Kavalets
We are thankful for those who support the program and these projects.

The Florida State fair is in full swing. These kids are killing it, having a blast, and putting their skills to the test. Here are some pictures of the last couple days. Tonight is Swine showmanship and will post more as the weekend progresses. As the Advisor I’m beyond thrilled and proud of each and everyone. Thankful for what I do.

When you rescue a very young kitten, take it to vet classes and incorporate it in lesson and one of your upper vet students knit him a sweater to stay warm…Nutrition, vital signs, record keeping, and husbandry all in one lesson. These kids are great. Meet Spartacus the little Spartan. His eyes are healing and he is recovering well.
