Dear Spartan Families:

This has been an unusual week, and we want to address it directly and reassure you that our students are safe. We'll share what we can while protecting and supporting Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office's ongoing investigation.

First and foremost, NO weapons have been found at our school, and there have been NO credible threats.

Here is what happened:

Monday: We went into lockdown after receiving an anonymous call. Hillsborough County law enforcement identified it as part of a nationwide hoax targeting multiple schools, designed to disrupt schools and tie up police resources. The FBI is investigating, and we hope those responsible are found and held accountable.

Tuesday evening: A former student posted "WCPA might be on the news." The post spread on FortifyFL with language like "Stay Safe" and "Stay Home" added by our students. Law enforcement responded immediately, met with the former student with his parent and took appropriate action to prevent further disruption from this individual.

Today: We went into a lock-in after a call falsely reported someone at our gate, possibly armed. No one was there. Law enforcement quickly confirmed this was another hoax and cleared us.

We know it's disheartening that people use fear tactics like this. Please know that we take every threat or rumor seriously and work closely with law enforcement every time. These were hoaxes — not real dangers — and it is safe to send your children to school. Keeping them safe remains our highest priority.
