One of our favorite events of the year is our annual all-school Mass at the Basilica of Ste. Anne in Detroit. During Mass, the names of all of our Pioneers who have passed —students and staff— are read, and prayers are offered in their memory. Freshman and transfer students are provided a tour of Ste. Anne, which is also the final resting place of our school namesake, Father Gabriel Richard. This year, our very own alumnus, Reverend John Herman (‘84), celebrated Mass with us.
Students loved having Sips, Sweets & Small Bites stop by today for lunch. The food truck will also be on site tonight for our soccer and volleyball games. If you’re in the area, stop by and support a local business!

When Gabriel Richard senior Chloe Collins returns to school this fall, she'll have lots to share about her summer vacation, most notably for playing the lead role in the production of Mean Girls Jr. at Michigan State University's Wharton Center. Chloe, who has entertained audiences in several of GR's productions, auditioned back in May for the "Take It From the Top" advanced theater workshop at MSU and was one of only 30 high school/college students across the state who were accepted. Taught by Broadway professionals, students work on skills in singing, acting and dancing. As part of the workshop, students audition again for the production.
Congratulations, Chloe, for your amazing performance as Cady Heron. We always knew you were destined to be a star!
