🌿🐞 Our VPK Graduates kicked off their first week of Summer Camp as Nature Explorers! During an exciting in-house visit from High Touch High Tech, campers became young scientists as they explored a variety of hands-on learning stations. They created nature-inspired crafts, investigated plastic insects, bravely touched a real spider, and rotated through engaging activities that sparked curiosity and discovery. It was a fun-filled day of exploration, learning, and adventure as our graduates began their summer journey!

Sunshine, smiles, and a little water play fun! ☀️💦🎨

Our preschool friends had the BEST time outside using water to “paint” the fence! With paintbrushes and cups of water in hand, the children explored creativity, practiced fine motor skills, and worked together while enjoying the fresh air. Watching their “paintings” disappear and reappear made the activity extra exciting! 😊

Our VPK friends had a blast celebrating “N is for New Name Day!” 🎉🔤

On Tuesday, our students got to choose their very own special name for the day and the creativity was AMAZING! We had friends named Unicorn 🦄, Spider-Man 🕷️, Batman 🦇, and even a few silly little Popcorns 🍿 running around the classroom!

The children loved introducing themselves by their new names during circle time, activities, and play with friends. This fun activity encouraged:

🍋 L is for Lemonade! 🍋

Today our VPK students became little chefs as they made homemade lemonade for our ABC Countdown to Summer! The children squeezed fresh lemons by hand, added sugar, mixed the ingredients together, and helped create their very own refreshing treat. 💛☀️

Hands-on activities like this help children build fine motor skills, teamwork, following directions, and early science and math concepts, all while making fun preschool memories together! 🎓✨

D is for Donut! 🍩
Yesterday our VPK students enjoyed a fun and engaging “D” day filled with delicious donuts and delightful learning. As children explored this sweet treat, they practiced recognizing the letter D, strengthening early literacy skills through hands-on, memorable experiences. Students also participated in a fun voting activity where they chose their favorite donut, helping build early math and decision-making skills while learning about expressing preferences. Activities like this make learning meaningful, interactive, and fun. Because when children are engaged, learning truly sticks!

Chalk it up to fun! Our VPK friends had a colorful time celebrating C is for Chalk! 🎨 Fences, sidewalks and chalkboards turned into masterpieces as creativity came to life through every drawing and doodle!

Using chalk helps strengthen pre-writing skills as children practice drawing lines, shapes, and even letters. It supports fine motor development, which is essential for writing, and gives children the opportunity to explore letter formation, name recognition, and early spelling in a fun, low-pressure way. Talking about their drawings also builds vocabulary and language skills, turning play into meaningful learning!

Our ABC Countdown isn’t just fun, it’s building strong early literacy skills every single day! By connecting each letter to a hands-on experience, children are strengthening letter recognition, sound awareness, vocabulary, and memory. These playful, meaningful activities help children make real-life connections to letters, which is key for early reading success.

Our VPK ABC Countdown to Summer is off to a soaring start! ✈️✨

For “A,” our little learners had a blast creating paper airplanes, and for “B,” we explored all things bubbles like blowing BIG bubbles and creating fun bubble painting art! From building fine motor skills to sparking creativity and wonder, every moment was filled with hands-on fun and learning through play.

Our little explorers are enjoying a hands-on Earth Day experience as they wiggle and play with “worms” made from folded paper and explore plastic bugs! 🐛🌎

Through this sensory-rich activity, infants and one-year-olds are building early curiosity about nature while strengthening fine motor skills as they grasp, squeeze, and manipulate the materials. This playful investigation also supports cognitive development as children begin to notice textures, movement, and cause-and-effect while engaging with their environment.

Learning through play helps even our youngest learners begin to connect with the world around them! One tiny “worm” at a time!
