**Wyoming Classical Academy – Riverton Board Meeting Update**
September 1, 2026

Thank you to everyone who continues to follow and support Wyoming Classical Academy as we build a classical public charter school here in Riverton.

Our board met today and discussed the school bylaws along with board member and other operational procedures. Minutes from today’s meeting will be posted on our website for anyone who would like to read them:

We are currently soliciting letters of interest for:
- The open seat on the Board
- Volunteers interested in serving on the Enrollment Committee
- Volunteers interested in serving on the Fundraising Committee

If you are interested in serving, please watch the website for updates and official notices. You are also welcome to message this page with questions.

As always, if you are interested in enrolling your child at the school, please see the website and fill out the interest form. These will be the first people contacted as enrollment opens! As of our update today, we have 200 letters of interest!

We appreciate the community’s continued interest and look forward to working with those who want to help launch a strong classical education option for Riverton families. This effort will take the village!

Great news! In July, the charter for the Wyoming Classical Academy - Riverton Campus was accepted by the Wyoming Charter Authorizing Board! This excellent school oppurtunity is officially coming to Fremont County!

Our committee to form which will transition into the first school governing board will meet this coming Thursday (7/30) at 4pm at the Smart Start Montessori building. We will be looking for 2 people to join our board as we move forward and begin planning for fall 2027. If you are interested in helping with this important cause, please consider joining us for this meeting.

Thank you to everyone who has dedicated time into bringing us this school and to the parents and educators who came to the public hearing to speak in support. This would not have come this far without you!

On Wednesday, our Committee-to-Form performed a capacity interview with the Wyoming Public Charter Schools Authorizing Board. This interview tested the committee's commitment to the proposed charter and its capacity to serve as the founding governing board. Each of our members performed admirably during this interview. Thank you for your commitment to our kids' education!

Next Steps: The Public School Charter Authorizing Board will determine the status of our charter at their July 15 Meeting. This meeting will be held from 3-5pm and will be open to the public. As notices for the meeting (and the Zoom link) are released, we will share them with anyone interested in watching.

Today, our Committee to Form for Wyoming Classical Academy – Riverton will present our charter school application to the Wyoming Charter School Authorizing Board during the Charter School Capacity Interview.

This is a public meeting scheduled to begin at 1:30pm at the CWC Tribal Center, Room 116. We are grateful for the dedication of our committee members — educators, parents, and business owners — who have worked hard to bring a new public school choice option to our community. 💖

This Memorial Day, we remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives in defense of our country. Their courage and sacrifice secured the freedoms we enjoy today, and we owe them a debt that can never fully be repaid.

At Wyoming Classical Academy, we believe it is our responsibility to teach the next generation to remember these heroes with gratitude and to understand the true cost of the liberty we hold dear. May we raise children who grow up to be good citizens — citizens who recognize that their freedoms were secured by the incredible sacrifices of American patriots.
