Good morning Riverton friends!
By now, you should have received emails from Riverton School detailing first day of school activities for next week.
We are getting ready by preparing for our First day back breakfast for our staff, with an Early Bird touch, and prepping fun swag bags for our newest Riverton School students in kindergarten and preschool for orientation next week.
We are happy to share that we will again have a fun and colorful Back to School photo op on the blacktop for the big kids, and a mini one on the playground for the little kids.
The photo setups will be ready by 7am on September 2nd, get there whenever you’d like, bring your camera or phone and snap away for first day memories with your child & their friends and teachers, courtesy of Riverton PTO.

What a legacy we get to help preserve today and for the future! 👏👏👏

Did you Know?
The original template for the PTA was created at The Porch Club on Howard Street in Riverton!
A group of mothers from Riverton went to Washington DC for suffragette rights and the goal of creating a free public kindergarten in Riverton in 1896.
Two years later the first woman was elected to the School Board.
In 1900 they sent invitations throughout the State for a gathering in Riverton for the purpose of forming a State Mother’s Circle.
In October of that year a successful meeting was held and the circle was formed and later became known as the N.J. State Parent and Teacher Association (PTA) which continues as a national organization to this day.

Throwback to the olden days at Riverton School. Mid to late August was a special time because Riverton kept it “old-school” and would post the class lists to the front door. Everyone would make their way down to the school early in the morning to see which homeroom and which very special teacher they’d get for the upcoming year. We’ve since had to change with the time for privacy and security reasons, but the joy and excitement of those days live on today! Happy School Year to you all!

Incredible low flying plane this morning… 😳😳😳

Our meetings are open to all members (this means everyone!) every 3rd Weds of the month. We keep it to an hour or less and childcare is provided. See you there!

Our first big event is coming up! We reserved a large section in 421 behind home plate for the last home game before playoffs for ‘Riverton Goes to the Phillies’ on Friday September 25th. Come cheer on the Fightin’ Phils with all of us in Riverton! Make sure you check the Jumbotron during the game for a special Riverton shoutout!

We are about 2 weeks away and already getting ready for a phenomenal school year. From new preschool friends, to 8th graders climbing the stairs for the last time, our students and staff are headed back, and we are ready to make it a good one, with your help! Please stay ready for some big updates, announcements, fundraising opportunities and all the craziness that comes with starting a new chapter in Riverton School history. We are ready, are you?!
