WHAT’S A PRACTICE CLUB? Did you KNOW that I am hosting a practice club for which I am working very hard on designing exercises, games, challenges for YOU?! And where I will guide you through all of your technique assignments?

Yes, yes I am! And I want everyone to come be part of this! I have benefitted SO MUCH from technique teachers for myself and for my children. So. Much. I am also painfully aware of the limitations of time and energy and focus and opportunity and follow-through that is really holding a lot of musicians back! I almost wish I could just delegate my scale work for my students to another platform…which is WHY I CREATED THIS PRACTICE CLUB!

Share with your friends! Any flutist of ANY AGE and ANY ability would benefit from this class! All you need is a flute, an internet connection, and a device that can stream zoom. Maybe a pencil for some activities. Share with your teachers, your band directors, your mom, your neighbor, anyone who might like to know about this. I am committed to doing my very best to giving you ALL of my energy and creativity to not only motivate you to do this work, but to have FUN while doing it!

I’m so lucky to have such a dear friend who also happens to be a pianist willing to play with me! She has been SO involved in my children’s lives, their needs, and my sanity! We currently do a weekly or sometimes bi-weekly practice swap where we trade children and practice with them concurrently! It helps so much with motivation all around, and she is so loving and patient. Enjoy this Christmas gram. ❤️❤️❤️🎄🎄🎄

Hello everybody! Thanks for stopping by my flute teaching page, where I share teaching tips, insights, and the occasional comedy short.

I consider myself a coach in addition to a teacher. I have both a B.M. and M.M. degree in flute performance from BYU. I also teach beginning piano lessons, where I focus extensively on technique, musicality, and note reading, rhythm, and all kinds of theory. We make it FUN!

Extensive experience, for over 16 years, coaching young musicians has shown me what patience, persistence, kindness, and a motivating environment can do for growth. I teach students of all ages and abilities on the flute, and I teach beginners on piano.

I will show you how to reach your goals as a musician, in the most efficient and fun way possible!
