Sandhollow Reservoir is one of my favorite places to scuba dive in Utah!
Sandhollow Reservoir located within the Sandhollow Utah State Park, in Hurricane UT. Sandhollow is surrounded by the iconic red rock formations that Southern Utah is known for. This dessert oasis has soft red sand beaches and emerald green water. The Reservoir is relatively warm staying within the 80s between May and September. There is an area marked specifically for scuba diving within the lake, which is open year round! This is great, because; you don't have to worry about boats zooming over your head!
Once in the water there is so much to explore! Sunken in the lake there is a Volkswagen bus, a Cessna 310 twin-engine airplane, an obstacle course, a small boat, and lots of other cool things. There is so much to see in this diving spot you might not see it all on one tank of air. No worries though, just on shore there is a dive shack that provides air refills and gear.
Things to know:
A day-use entry fee is required, buy in-person or online. The Annual Utah State Park Pass is accepted for park entry.
Some people may experience Swimmer's Itch from the water. But you should be good if you stay away from the trees that are growing in the water and don’t kick up too much sand..
The park is open year round
