Our well structured, stimulating Montessori classroom provides a peaceful atmosphere where children are allowed to explore and learn through discoveries on their own ( self-directed learning) . It is an atmosphere which fosters joy of learning, concentration, order, positive self- concept, independence, creativity, scientific curiosity, respect for self, others, material and environment. We strongly believe that each child is unique and has his/her own developmental needs, different abilities, interests and approaches to learning. Children, through their “Absorbent Minds” master various skills and perfect themselves through constant repetition. The role of the Montessori Directress is to introduce the material to the children and remain a silent observer respecting and encouraging child’s independence. Scientifically made, educational Montessori materials are self-correcting, designed to cater to reach the highest potential of each child, allowing the child to make discoveries independent of an adult. However, when necessary, teacher directed activities are incorporated to enhance academic growth of the child while the Montessori Directress will be acting as the guardian and the link between the “Prepared Environment” and the Child.
