Thank you to everyone who joined us to SOLARBRATE the installation of our solar panels! ☀️

Riverside Brookfield High School’s solar system includes 840 panels across the roof and is expected to generate 16.46 million kWh of clean energy and $2.3 million in net cash flow over its 30-year lifespan.

This project would not be possible without the collaborative efforts of Assistant Superintendent Dr. Kristin Smetana, RB Class of 2015 alum and renewable energy engineer Grace Rasmussen, the team at Verde Solutions, and the District 208 Board of Education.

We’re excited to see the long-term benefits this project will bring to RB!

Superintendent Dr. Skinkis is one of four superintendents statewide elected to the IHSA Board of Directors. New this fall, IHSA member schools voted to expand the IHSA Board by four seats, all four of which are reserved for a Superintendent, President, CEO, or Head of School. We look forward to seeing Dr. Skinkis bring his administrative experience and athletic background to help guide IHSA policies and decisions.

As we approach the long weekend, we want to remind families of the importance of regular school attendance.

RB’s 2026-2027 Vacation Planner outlines scheduled breaks, holidays and other days off throughout the school year to help families plan trips while limiting missed instructional time. Consistent attendance plays an important role in students’ academic success and social-emotional growth. Thank you for planning ahead and making the most of scheduled school breaks!
