We are so excited to kick off the 2026-2027 school year! I have had the privilege of meeting some of you already. For those of you who I have not met yet, I am deeply honored to introduce myself as your new Principal. Leading a school with such a rich history, strong cultural awareness, and a renowned Spanish Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program is an incredibly exciting opportunity. For me, coming to Washington feels like coming home—quite literally as I was a student here from 4th through 6th grade and I live in the community. Washington has always held a special place in my heart as my 4th grade teacher is the one who inspired me to want to be a teacher.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working across multiple school sites in various roles, including classroom teacher, intervention specialist, academic coach, and, for the past 11 years, school administrator. These experiences have shaped my core educational philosophy: when we meet students' social-emotional needs first, they truly thrive. As principal, I am committed to building and sustaining the supportive systems necessary for our students to excel both emotionally and academically.

The first day of school is this Monday, August 10th with gates opening at 7:45 AM. We will allow parents on campus the first day of school to meet the teacher. Just remember to begin exiting the campus after you hear the first bell. Be aware that the pull through in front of the office is for our buses and for drop off and pick up only. If you park in the surrounding streets, please do not block any driveways.
