🌊🐠 Ocean Animals Week was full of discovery and hands-on learning at Sierra Preschool & Afterschool! 🐙🦈

Our students had a great time creating their own "Ocean in a Bottle" experiment while learning about the different zones of the ocean. As they layered colors and explored the depths of the sea, they discussed which ocean animals live in each zone and how conditions change from the surface to the deepest parts of the ocean.

Activities like this help bring science concepts to life while encouraging curiosity, observation, and a love of learning. Most importantly, our students had so much fun exploring the wonders of the ocean together!

Our little artists had so much fun creating colorful parakeets during our Feathered Friends week! 🦜🎨 Using Q-tips to paint helps children strengthen important skills such as hand-eye coordination, fine motor development, focus, creativity, and sensory exploration — all while having fun and expressing themselves through art! 💚

Our little learners had a chirping good time learning all about birds this week! 🐦✨ We created adorable bird crafts and built cozy bird nests while exploring how birds live, fly, and care for their babies. So much creativity, learning, and fun in our classroom! 💛🪺

🌱 Garden Day in Action at Sierra Preschool! 🌱

Our students had such a meaningful hands-on experience planting vegetable seeds and caring for our school garden! From gently placing seeds into the soil to watering and tending to their growing plants, the children were engaged, curious, and so proud of their work. 🌿💚

At Sierra Preschool, we believe learning goes far beyond the classroom. Our outdoor learning program includes gardening, outdoor science, and outdoor art—giving children rich, real-world experiences that spark curiosity and connection. 🌞🎨🔍

Outdoor learning in early childhood supports important developmental skills such as problem-solving, responsibility, sensory exploration, teamwork, and a deeper appreciation for nature. 🌎✨
