Alumni takeovers are back! ✨

We are so excited to kick off this 25th year of the Teeny Awards and to bring back our alumni takeovers starting tomorrow! Greenport High School and Teeny alum Faith Welch sets the stage as our first alum 🤩

Faith Welch is a freshman at Barnard College studying Political Science and Africana Studies with the goal of being a lawyer for wrongfully incarcerated minorities. Although Faith just began her college journey, she is already involved with the arts at both Barnard and Columbia. She is a member of Bacchantae, a prestigious higher voices acapella group that features vocalists from across all of Columbia University’s undergraduate schools. She is also a new member of the Columbia Gospel Choir, their goal is to uplift black voices both in the choir and in the broader music scheme. The choir has done performances at events like this fall’s New York Fashion Week, as well as being able to perform for Kirk Franklin! Faith is super excited to be a part of these amazing groups.

During High School Faith was deeply involved in the arts as well. She played a prominent role in Greenport’s musical theatre program and performed many roles throughout her high school career, but some of her favorites were Princess Fiona in Shrek, and Katherine Blake or “The Mom” in Freaky Friday! Additionally she was a very involved member in Greenport’s acapella group throughout all of her high school years.

Faith also served important roles in both her school and the broader community of Long Island, winning many awards for her work in racial justice. She was her school’s student council president, and the first student to sit on Greenport’s Board of Education. Faith is an activist, an advocate, and a lover of the arts!

Tune in tomorrow to see a day in the life of the amazing Faith! 📲

🌧️ Artist Talk Update
Due to the weather forecast and out of an abundance of caution, we are moving tomorrow’s artist talk by one day to Sunday 10/27 at 3 PM.

There is no second rain date for this talk, so we’re hopeful that we can move forward as planned this Sunday! 🤞

Join us Sunday, October 11th, as we welcome the vibrant, layered abstract paintings of David Collins to the walls of Chronicle Wines CHRONICLE WINES 🥂

Link in bio to RSVP!

Chronicle Wines CHRONICLE WINES is an intimate, women-owned tasting room on the North Fork of Long Island in Peconic, New York. We’re grateful to have them as one of our satellite galleries on the East End, and to share a selection of locally produced w**es alongside the work of artists we love.

Born in Iowa and raised in Texas, David Collins earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1988. His work is recognized for its vivid color, geometric structure, and complex compositions inspired by the fluid nature of memory. Drawing from recollections of airports, homes, and construction sites, Collins transforms familiar industrial spaces into dynamic visual landscapes that continually assemble, fragment, and reimagine themselves before the viewer. Collins now lives and works on the North Fork of Long Island, New York.
