Riley Avenue Elementary School brought its classrooms outside into the autumnal air for the school’s second annual Outdoor Learning Day. Students from all grades took part in an educational approach immersed in the outdoors, expanding the capacity for hands-on instruction while learning about wind, shadows, aerodynamics, and the five senses.

The Riverhead Central School District recognizes National Hispanic Heritage Month! RIVERHEAD'S HECTOR CALDERON NAMED ONE OF LONG ISLAND'S TOP BOYS SOCCER PLAYERS

Riverhead High School senior Hector Calderon was named to Newsday’s list of the top 100 Long Island high school boys soccer players for the 2026 season. Serving as a forward and midfielder for the Blue Waves, Hector was named the team’s MVP last season and earned AAA all-league honors.
