CPA Plus and UMD NSBE(National Society of Black Engineers) hosted a workshop during CPA Plus on Monday, April 27th from 3:30 - 4:45pm.

The primary goal of this event was to provide students with hands-on experience to build their concepts and knowledge on STEM principles. This event was geared towards middle school students who are in grades 6th - 8th grades.

Mr. Baker leads with collaboration, integrity, and an unwavering belief in the potential of others. He fosters a culture where teachers, staff, and students feel supported, challenged, and empowered to grow. By modeling professionalism, thoughtful decision-making, and a genuine commitment to excellence, he inspires our entire community to bring their very best each day.

As CPA’s first Assistant Principal and first Middle School Principal, he has helped build a program that challenges students to think critically, grow creatively, and pursue lifelong learning with confidence.

Today, 41 College Park Academy students in grades 8–12 stepped out of the classroom and into civic leadership in Annapolis — advocating for fair facilities funding for public charter schools.

In support of the bill sponsored by CPA Founding Board Member Jim Rosapepe and Mark Chang, our students reminded lawmakers that:

Charter Schools are Public Schools.

We’re proud to see our students using their voices to stand up for equitable resources, safe learning environments, and the future of their education.

Look! We did it again!

For the third consecutive year, CPA has earned the College Board’s Honor Roll Platinum Award — the highest level of recognition in the programme.

This distinction is based on three measures: College Culture, College Credit, and College Optimisation. CPA not only met the Platinum standard but achieved scores close to the maximum across all categories.

This achievement reflects the sustained efforts of our students, teachers, and leadership team, and our shared commitment to rigorous, high-quality instruction. We remain focused on preparing students not only for college, but for long-term success beyond the classroom.
