Allow me to reintroduce myself. Because if you knew me 10, 20 years ago there’s been some changes.
Sometimes I see old pics of me and I’m reminded how scared I was. I see someone who desperately wanted to be loved. Who felt so out of place that she would tread so quietly she barely made a ripple. Who felt so shameful and judged no matter the decision she made. Who was told without a man she’d never make it.
Now I can’t imagine navigating my life that way. I hold such compassion for that version of myself. I know I wouldn’t have learned the lessons I needed to without her. But being me now feels like a breath of fresh air.
