We had fun with another competitive jigsaw puzzle race at the Library tonight. Congrats to Adelinne’s team, our first place winners, who completed a 500-piece jigsaw puzzle in only 38 minutes! In second place, Erin’s team was close behind with 42 minutes, and Susan’s team finished third with a respectable 80 minutes. Think you can beat their times? Keep an eye out for future puzzle races!

Our streak of perfect weather for the summer concert series continued tonight with local rockers Terry White and the Loaded Dice playing a Bob Dylan tribute show! As Terry himself pointed out, the Library makes an ideal backdrop for songs by the only songwriter to be awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature. Thanks to all who came out!

There is one more concert coming up in the series: West African drumming ensemble Kaben Kafo plays on Thursday, August 27 at 7:00 pm. Hope to see you then!

🎨 New Art at the Library!

A formerly blank wall at the River Forest Public Library has been transformed by talented young artists from The Little Bits Workshop!

Under the guidance of Liita Forsyth and instructors Jean Bacom and Susan Charette, students created four stunning pieces—including vibrant magazine mosaics of a chickadee, owl, and monarch butterfly, plus a striking mixed-media work, The Reader.

Each piece celebrates creativity, nature, and the magic of imagination. ✨

Stop by the upstairs east wall to see these beautiful works in person—and enjoy other Little Bits Workshop art throughout the library!

If you were looking for a sign to visit the library today, here it is! 👀 Our new sign was installed yesterday and, while it is still a work-in-progress, we hope you will stop by to check it out. And grab some good books while you’re at it! 📚

Edited to add: While we loved our old sign, the wood was rotted and it was no longer safe to keep up. The new sign also includes our address and reflects our new logo making our location more visible and easier to find. The sign is not finished! Brick work and lighting are being added. Stay tuned!
